Around 20,000 people are expected to turn up on George Street to see Edinburgh's Christmas lights switch-on this 18th November. A brilliant family event hosted by Arlene Stuart from Radio Forth One, where the city gets ready for the festive season. The Christmas Tree on the Mound is lit up too. Celebrations start at 3pm.
An Edinburgh Christmas wouldn't be complete without a wander through the Christmas markets, gluhwein in hand. The German Market offers specialist stalls and also bars, food stalls and fairground attractions.
St Andrew Square becomes a magical circular ice rink this Christmas, with a bar in the middle serving delicious warming drinks and snacks. This is a really magical experience and lots of fun. So, get your skates on!
The Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh has created a truly magical, atmospheric outdoor trail of light celebrating Christmas. The one mile trail follows the Garden's paths, with trees and landscape spectacularly lit and aglow. There are stalls selling food and mulled wine too.
We hope these exciting Edinburgh Christmas events have got you excited about the festive season. Also, don't miss the beautiful traditional Christmas tree in Jenner's department store. It's huge!
