Edinburgh's Grassmarket is an ancient market place in the Old Town. A wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by!

We love this welcoming little cafe in West Port, Grassmarket. With speciality coffee and mouthwatering cakes, we always make excuses to pop in. Lovecrumbs has a hip and quirky interior and a fantastic range of tea, coffee and cakes. In our view, this must be one of the best cafes in Edinburgh.
Always busy and yet still relaxing - our favourite spot has to be the big cushions directly in the window. Climb up, lounge back and watch the world go by, while munching on some divine cakes.

La Baratine is lovely artisan bakery in the Grassmarket, bringing a touch of France to Scotland. The people of Edinburgh can't get enough of the concept and there are now four branches of this typical French cafe in the city. In addition to this one in the Grassmarket, there are two in Bruntsfield and another in Stockbridge.
Celine, Vincent and their teams serve up breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, delicious gateaux and French breads. And their macarons are simply incroyable!
