There's no better place to celebrate the turning of a new year than Edinburgh!
Party your way into the New Year in Edinburgh!
Our magnificent city comes alive on Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) with fireworks, concerts, ceilidhs and shows. It's a magical experience that should be on everyone's bucket list. And this year is extra special as we welcome in a new decade! So today, we're looking at what's on for Hogmanay in Edinburgh.
If you're staying with us for Hogmanay, remember these events are very popular, so be sure to get your tickets in advance.
This year's official Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations feature lots of exciting events, beginning with the amazing Torchlight Procession on 30th December.
Then on the big night itself, choose from the Street Party, Concert in the Gardens, Candlelit Concert and Ceilidh under the Castle. There are also lots of family events on offer for those with young children, including Bairns Afore and First Footers Family Ceilidh.
And if you want to continue the party into the early hours of New Year's Day, this year there will be an Official After Party at McEwan Hall.
Not forgetting the traditional icy dip in the Firth of Forth, which we call the Loony Dook, from midday on 1st January. Check the full Edinburgh's Hogmanay programme here.
If you're looking for a smaller celebration, many hotels, restaurants and pubs will be serving up special Hogmanay menus. And there will be a party atmosphere throughout the whole city!
Wherever you are at midnight, make sure you have a view of Edinburgh Castle. Because, as the clock strikes 12, the sky above the castle will erupt in a spectacular fireworks display. The perfect way welcome in the year 2020!

"What an amazing property. The rooms, décor, equipment, furnishings, etc were all high end and luxurious. Brilliant central location. We would highly recommend a stay here. Only problem is you might not want to leave."
"Lorna was excellent at keeping in touch and very accommodating. The property is beautifully decorated and very well appointed throughout. Great location, close to Princes Street, buses and tram stop. The Castle, Royal Mile are all in walking distance."
"An exceptional place! Next to the high street and close to the public transport facilities. The place is sparkling clean and very well maintained. It is spacious and cozy. Lorna is extremely helpful and quick on her responses. 10/10 will stay at this place when I go back to Edinburgh."
