Hidden Gem: William Street, Edinburgh

Photo of Hidden Gem: William Street, Edinburgh

Tucked away in Edinburgh's West End, the picturesque cobbled William Street is home to some wonderful independent businesses.

If you're staying in on of our West End apartments in Edinburgh, you'll want to explore the local area. With so many major attractions in the city, sometimes the hidden gems can be missed. One of our favourite streets in Edinburgh is the pretty cobbled lane of William Street. Tucked around the corner from Shandwick Place in the West End, William Street is home to a number of independent bars, cafes, restaurants and boutiques. If you're looking for a place to stay that's in the city centre but with a community feel, then this is a good place to start.

Drink: Teuchters, 26 William Street, Edinburgh

An Edinburgh institution, Teuchters is a lively bar based on William Street. With a huge range of Scottish beers and whiskies, this is a great place to come for a drink and to experience some Scottish hospitality. With friendly bar staff and even friendlier punters, you're likely to come away from the night having met a few people. Incredibly popular during the rugby , with large screens showing the games and people spilling out into the street to drink and chat.
